Eugene Maltsev, better known by the stage name Desync, is a Russian
electronic music producer from the Urals. His work has been inspired
by dance acts like Chemical Brothers and Deep Dish; DJs such as Sasha
and John Digweed; as well as other members of the scene of the early
2000s.
Desync started making music in 2006 at the age of 21. Later he became
well-recognized among Russian producers and DJs for his unique style —
mixture of progressive, tech, glitch and 8-bit sounds. In 2009 his
debut single 'Badger' was released under the record label Glory. Effect
and a few months later Eugene came a finalist in the Moonbeam's 'Storm
of Coulds' remix contest. From then Desync went on to release tracks
under internationally known labels such as Carica Records, Moonbeam
Digital and Disoma.
Eugene is continuously perfecting his music production skills by using
quite a minimalistic set-up: an ordinary laptop and a set of
headphones. Such simplicity helps him to stay focused on his work
rather than on technical aspects surrounding it. Recent releases
proved this concept to work for Desync and we hope to enjoy more of
techno-romantic tracks coming from this Russian musician
in the nearest future.
