In 1997, Richard Earnshaw and Mark “Bamo” Bamford met on the South Coast of England and soon their mutual appreciation of music, in particular electronic dance music became apparent. With the two emerging from backgrounds that covered writing, arranging, orchestration, live performance and DJing, the ultimate result was a solid understanding of the process from the conception to the realisation of their music.
It didn’t take long for them to find their feet and after a couple of years in the studio, made their mark with a string of productions on notorious deep house label Niche Records. Their very first production was a remix of Deep Architecture “The Realm”(2001) which proved a real favourite on the white isle with tremendous support both in the clubs and radio. Not long afterwards their debut release “In Your Hands”(2001) also found its way into a number of high profile record boxes and compilations. And it was with this early success that Spiritchaser built the foundations that have since proved stable for the last 9 years. Concentrating mainly on creating original music they have still produced a number of remixes with the likes of Dido(BMG), Nina Jayne(BMG), Dave Storm(Ceremony), Rasmus Faber, Hardsoul, Sebastian Davidson, Marco Del Horno(Bullet Train Recs) and many others.
In 2004, Spiritchaser became the solid foundation of newly formed Guess Records, the deeper offshoot label of Duffnote/One51. It has been since the close affiliation with Guess that Spiritchaser settled into the sound that is now featuring in compilations and playlists all over the world with successes such as their Terrace remix of The Craftsmen “One Day”(which featured on Pete Tongs Essential Show on Radio 1 and also on the Ben Watt -Live At Plastic People mix (DJ Mag - Volume 4 / No.38), and more recently their “Spiritlevel” series which have featured highly in the Beatport charts.
Exciting times are ahead for Spiritchaser, with a host of remixes and original productions, continuing their Spiritlevel series and putting the finishing touched to their debut album “1440” due for release in the early part of 2010.
